Ligue des droits de l’Homme and Attac: roles, management and resources

Non-governmental organizations (NGOs)

Two French associations with different missions and documented governance; neither can be understood through a single donor label.

Evidence reviewed: 17 October 2026. Roles, financial periods, allegations and legal outcomes retain their stated dates. Later appointments are distinguished from officials already serving.

Identify each association

The Ligue des droits de l’Homme (LDH), the Human Rights League, works on rights and freedoms. Attac is the Association pour la taxation des transactions financières et pour l’action citoyenne, an association for financial-transaction taxation and citizen action. Its 2025 statutes describe a campaigning and public-education organization pursuing social, ecological and democratic change. These are distinct associations, not departments of one organization. [1] [5]

Leadership means a specified role

A May 2026 announcement records Nathalie Tehio’s reelection as LDH president and Lionel Brun-Valicon as treasurer. Attac’s governance account identifies Lou Chesné and Vincent Drezet as its legal-representative pair following the June 2025 reforms, with Raphaël Pradeau and Youlie Yamamoto as spokespeople. A president, legal representative and spokesperson perform different roles; none should automatically be relabeled chief executive officer. [1] [3]

Resources and accounting periods

The LDH’s 2024 accounts describe €1,623,167 collected from the public and explain how unrestricted public resources supplement activity funding. Attac’s fundraising information says donations and memberships provide more than 90% of its budget. These are organization-level descriptions with different periods and accounting bases, not directly comparable measures of protest spending. Nor do aggregate income categories identify every donor or establish foreign-government control. [2] [4]

Country and enterprise connections

The records identify French governance and activities. Criticism of a multinational, work with another association or participation in international debate is not the same as receiving company funding. A claim about a particular foreign country or associated enterprise needs its own named agreement, financial entry or other direct evidence. None is inferred here from a campaign’s subject.

Benefits and scrutiny

Rights work and accessible policy analysis can support public participation. Questions about representation, accuracy, donor restrictions and campaign methods still deserve examination. Look at the actual decision and management responsibilities, not only a well-known current or former figure. A donor relationship may matter, but it cannot replace evidence about who authorized an action and whether the claimed outcome occurred.

People, institutions and evidence

Nathalie Tehio and Lionel Brun-Valicon

Relationship: Ligue des droits de l’Homme governance

Documented record: May 2026 record names Tehio president and Brun-Valicon treasurer.

Lou Chesné, Vincent Drezet, Raphaël Pradeau and Youlie Yamamoto

Relationship: Attac governance and representation

Limits: This is not a named donor list or an event-specific financing total. [2]
