Planning & Preparing
Choose what you are planning for
A useful plan connects a goal with the information, choices and next steps needed to reach it. Preparing means putting those steps and any practical backup in place.
Choose the subject first, then use its information and tools.
1 — Name the goal and timing
Write down what you want to accomplish, when it matters and what needs to keep working along the way. A clear goal helps you decide which details deserve attention.
2 — Compare the realistic routes
Gather the information that could change your choice. Consider cost, time, requirements, access and the effect on other responsibilities.
Worth checking: what is confirmed, what is estimated and what still needs an answer?
3 — Prepare the next step and a backup
Choose one action you can take now. Identify what you would do if the timing, cost or circumstances changed, and decide when to review the plan.
