Learn a Skill

Turn a useful skill into a concrete next move.

1 — Define the outcome

Name what you want the skill to help you do: qualify for an entry-level role, improve work you already do, or test a field before spending more time or money.

2 — Verify the skill is useful

Check current job postings or employer requirements. Look for the skill repeatedly before paying for a course that may not improve your options.

3 — Build proof

Choose a small project, assessment, portfolio example or recognized credential that can show what you can actually do.

If the skill alone is not enough:
  • An employer may expect experience, a portfolio, certification or another related skill.
  • A course completion certificate may not carry the same weight as an independently recognized credential.
Check what proof employers actually ask for before spending heavily on training.
